Buzz and Ren and Phil and Ruben enjoy walking in the Odori Park's fountain overflow in downtown Sapporo. And it was a hot day! It was so hot that later Ruben roasted marshmellows on his belly!

In June and July 2010 Ruben and Phil Coleman visit Buzz, Yukari, and Ren Coleman in Sapporo, Japan. Also we plan to visit Yukari's parents, Sato-san and Yoko-san; her sister and companion, Chiemi-san and Yoshio-san, and their Maltese, Maru; her brother and sister-in-law, Kyoichi-san and Narumi-san; and their children, Ayu (12), Koyori (9), and Kazuma (6).

Ren had such a blast walking around that fountain. He tried to copy older kids who were scooping up water and throwing it. It was so cute seeing him dip his little hand in and kind of almost being able to scoop up a little bit, very very slowly. Then it was back to more serious walking, cuz he was really intent on making the rounds. That place is awesome. And free.
Oh yeah, and Ren tried to walk up the steps to the sun-beaten concrete area and got some hot feetsies! Then, later on, when I wanted to put him down barefood on some concrete that was shaded and not hot at all, he showed us all exactly who's son he was by getting all afraid to put his feet down. Sometimes it really seems like Ruben is Jake all over again, and sometimes it seems like Ren is me all over again. Constant Injury Man vs. Afraid to Go Outside Man.
And it was free.
